Why Can’t I Get My Code to Work in WordPress After Using AI Chatbots?

I've spent over 20 hours trying to get my code to work in WordPress, using various AI chatbots for help. I had Claude generate a file with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript that runs perfectly in VS Code. However, despite following the confident instructions from GPT, Claude, Gemini, and Copilot, nothing seems to work within WordPress. I'm beginning to wonder if these AI tools are really as helpful as they claim to be. Are web developers really safe from being replaced by AI?

Haha, just remember—"Luke, use the force!" Sometimes, all you need is a bit of creativity and a good debugging session to make it work!

I feel your pain! AI can be useful, but it's definitely better at getting you started than finishing strong. Projects get tricky, and sometimes we need that human touch to tie everything together. Breaking things down into smaller tasks can help, but that’s often the toughest part of coding.

Exactly! It’s like AI can guide you, but you still have to put in the work to solve the real problems.

Absolutely! The complexity really ramps up, and that’s where the real coding skills come into play.

It sounds like you're falling into the common trap of relying too much on AI for complex tasks. AI can help you kickstart projects and generate basic code, but it's not great at handling the nuanced details—especially when it comes to platforms like WordPress. You might want to try using AI tools that can run code directly on your machine and have a deeper understanding of your codebase, like Cursor or Claude Code. They can test and adjust things in real-time, which might save you some headaches!

Totally agree! AI can assist in the beginning stages, but that last 20% of getting everything to tie together is where it usually falls short. It’s all about breaking down your coding problems into manageable pieces.

Yeah, using agents that interact directly with your code can make a huge difference. It's definitely worth trying!

I wouldn’t worry too much about job security just yet! Right now, it seems low-code environments are harder to replace, and while AI tools are improving, they're still not there for complex platforms like WordPress. Who knows, maybe we'll see more effective AI builders for WordPress soon enough!
