Why Can’t I See My Disk When Trying to Install Windows?

Hey everyone, I need to switch to Windows right now for an important reason. I tried formatting my disk as NTFS using a Live CD, but Windows still doesn't recognize it, and I can't install the OS. I'm currently using Linux. Even if I skip formatting, it's still not showing up. What steps can I take to resolve this?

Have you checked what you see when you're booting from the Windows USB? When you get to the partition creation step, is your disk displayed there? Sometimes the disk can be hidden for various reasons.

I can see my portable hard drive, but it won’t let me proceed with the installation.

A couple of things to consider: First, avoid pre-formatting your disk as NTFS. Also, check the RAID settings in your BIOS. Sometimes, the drive is set up with a RAID configuration by default, and the Windows installer might not recognize a RAID controller, causing the disk to be invisible.

I tried installing without formatting, but Windows still doesn't detect my disk, so that didn't help.

Are you not seeing the SSD in the BIOS at all? If it’s not showing up there, it could be a deeper issue that needs to be sorted out.
