Why Can’t I Take Screenshots on My Laptop?

I tried to take screenshots for my class yesterday, but I ran into big issues. I took about 20 screenshots of the same image, but none of them can be opened. When I try to view them, I get an error saying, "Sorry, Photos can't open this file because the format is currently unsupported, or the file is corrupted." What could be going on?

First off, what method are you using to take screenshots? Are you using the Shift + Ctrl + S combination? Or do you have a Print Screen button? If you're unsure about the format your screenshots are being saved in, checking that might help. You can usually find this by checking the properties of the files in your file explorer.

If using the Snipping Tool, make sure it’s updated. Sometimes, glitches happen if you're using an outdated version. Also, double-check your screenshot settings to see if there’s an unusual file format selected.

I totally relate! I've had similar issues with the Snipping Tool. Sometimes it works, and other times it just sits there saying, 'Just a moment, we're getting your image ready.' It's super frustrating. Have you tried checking your regional configuration? Incorrect settings can mess up some Windows features, including taking screenshots.
