I'm a bit confused about the lack of support for new integrations like remote MCP in the Claude app on my iPhone. Is there a specific reason for this? I was wondering if there's any way to set it up or utilize it on my phone, or do I really just need to rely on local usage?

There are some experimental apps like Sage that have built MCP functionality integrated, but they’re still in TestFlight phase. Just something to keep an eye on if you're interested in trying out new options!

Unfortunately, to make changes to the configuration file for remote MCP, you'll need to do that on a computer. The iPhone app currently doesn’t allow for these adjustments, so you're pretty much stuck with local use only for now. That said, it’s good to be aware that the capabilities do exist, just not through the app.

I did a bit more digging and discovered that while the app itself doesn’t support remote MCP directly, if you have a Max plan, you can configure integrations via the web settings for Claude. I even accessed it through my phone's web browser, and it worked flawlessly! You can check it out on Claude's website, but I can’t share images here, unfortunately. It’s pretty exciting!

So you managed to set up MCPs through the web? That's interesting! And it requires the Max plan, right? That sounds really useful!
