I'm facing a problem with my external drive on my Mac. It works perfectly on my girlfriend's HP laptop, but on my Mac, I can only read from it. I suspect it might be due to the drive being formatted as NTFS. Can anyone guide me on how to fix this? Is there a way to change the format so I can write to it?

The NTFS format is indeed the culprit here since Macs can't write to NTFS drives out of the box. You’ve got a few options: 1. Reformat the drive to ExFAT, which works on both Windows and Mac, but keep in mind that this will erase all data on the drive. 2. Consider buying software like Paragon to enable writing to NTFS drives on your Mac. 3. If you have access to a PC, you could also use MacDrive or something similar to access Mac-formatted drives.

I reformatted it to ExFAT, but now I’m getting a message saying the drive is full, which doesn't make sense since it has 1TB available and I'm only trying to transfer a 19MB file. What could be causing this?
