Why Can’t My PC Detect More Than Two Monitors?

I've built my PC about a year ago and I'm facing a problem where I can't connect a third or fourth monitor. I have an RTX 3090 Ti graphics card, and everything else has been working fine up until now. I've switched ports and confirmed that all the monitors function individually, but when I plug in the third monitor using another DisplayPort cable, it's just not detected. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Here's a quick rundown of my build in case it helps:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor
- CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM
- Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI)
- Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200
- Storage: Western Digital Black SN770 1 TB NVME SSD
- Video Card: EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti 24 GB FTW3
- Case: Corsair iCUE 5000X RGB ATX Mid Tower
- Power Supply: Corsair RM750x White (2018) 750 W 80+ Gold
- Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Have you checked the resolution and refresh rates of the two monitors that are currently working? Depending on those settings, your GPU might struggle to handle more than two displays, especially if they are high res or high refresh rates. You might want to lower the settings a bit to see if that lets you add more monitors. Also, make sure your drivers are up to date, just in case that’s where the issue lies.

You may want to verify some settings in your graphics control panel as well. Sometimes there are options that can limit the number of detectable displays. Additionally, have you tried connecting one of the monitors using HDMI instead of DisplayPort? That could help in recognizing all monitors depending on how they are set up. Give it a shot!
