Why Did My Internet Go Out Temporarily at 4 AM?

I've been using Brsk as my internet provider for about a month, and everything's been fine until early this morning around 4 AM when my internet and WiFi went out for about a minute. It came back on about 25-30 minutes ago. I'm wondering if this could be related to the stormy and windy weather in my area? The manual mentions that one of the lights on the modem should change color to indicate updates, but I didn't see any changes. Also, there's an alarm light that should turn on if there's an issue, and that didn't activate either. The cables run from my modem to a pole outside, so maybe the strong winds affected the cables? I just want a reliable broadband service that doesn't have these kinds of interruptions. My previous provider, TalkTalk, had constant issues, and I'm really tired of unreliable internet.

If you really want to avoid this in the future, consider signing up for a business plan that has a Service Level Agreement (SLA) and guaranteed uptime. You could also set up a secondary connection with a different provider as a backup. Just a thought! But remember, no ISP can guarantee 100% uptime.

Honestly, it's hard to pinpoint exactly what caused the outage without knowing more about your area and service. I recommend just giving Brsk a call and asking them directly. They should be able to provide more insight into any local issues that might be affecting your service.

I totally get your frustration, but a 25-30 minute downtime isn't the end of the world, especially when it happens at 4 AM. It could have been some scheduled maintenance on the router or with Brsk. And they usually don't send out notifications for short outages. Try not to stress too much about it! If it happens regularly, then that’s definitely something to look into further.
