Last night, while I was sleeping with my iPhone locked on my bedside table, I unexpectedly heard it calling someone in my headphones. I hadn't turned on any Siri commands, and I haven't reached out to this contact in years. I was using my iPad with headphones instead of my phone, and there's no phone app on my iPad. So, what could have triggered my iPhone to make a call on its own?

The call might have been triggered by another device, like a nearby Mac, iPad, or even a watch. Did any of those have Siri active or were accidentally touched?
I jokingly call it AI, or 'Accidental Intelligence'. It happens more often than you'd think!
This has happened to me a few times too! My phone just started dialing someone while sitting on the table. It’s like it has a mind of its own sometimes!
It's possible that you or someone else in bed accidentally dialed the number and set the phone back down without noticing.
Do you have an Apple Watch? If so, that could’ve been a factor, especially if it was nearby.
Sometimes it’s just a glitch or an accidental trigger. iPhones can misinterpret taps, swipes, or headphone button presses as calls, particularly if you're using features that sync across devices like FaceTime.

Yeah, I had a similar experience once where my phone accidentally dialed someone too. It’s a little unnerving!
