I recently bought a PC and tried to log into my Microsoft account for the first time, mainly used before for playing Warzone on Xbox with my dad. To my surprise, I found out my account was banned for violating terms of service. Luckily, I was able to verify my identity using my phone number and email, but I'm really confused about why this happened. I'm hesitant to purchase Minecraft now if my account is just going to get banned again. I don't use a mic or engage in disrespectful behavior on Warzone, so this has me puzzled.

Sometimes accounts can get banned for underage use. If your account info suggests you’re under the required age, that could explain the ban. Just make sure your profile information is accurate.
It sounds like your account might have triggered a security protocol due to a login from a new device. Microsoft takes account security seriously, so they may have flagged it just to be safe. It’s good that you could verify your identity. Just keep your login details secure and be careful with any unusual activity. Buying Minecraft should be fine as long as you don’t use a VPN that might confuse the system!
Yeah, it’s also worth checking your security settings just to be sure everything's in order.
Honestly, we can't be sure why it happened. Microsoft has its reasons, but it might not always be clear. If it happens again, you can check the security tab on account.microsoft.com for details on the action taken.
Good call! I'll check that if it occurs again.
That's a handy tip, definitely worth a look.
Thanks! I'll definitely check that out before I make any purchases.
