Why did my new PC work after a night of not working?

I recently built a new PC and faced a frustrating issue where everything powered on fine, but there was no video output. After giving up for the night, I tried turning it on the next morning, and surprisingly, it worked perfectly. Why is that? Can anyone explain what might have caused this?

It sounds like you experienced something common called memory training. The first boot of a new build can take a while because your system is establishing timings and configurations for the memory. If you turned it off too quickly on the first day, it might not have completed that process. Believe me, I've seen it happen where the first boot takes a few minutes or longer, so don't worry too much about it!

Yeah, I totally get that! I had a similar situation with my son’s PC, and it booted fine one day but took forever the next. I had to just leave it alone, and then it eventually started up without issues.

Thanks for the insight; that makes sense!

I've had a similar experience! In one of my builds, I didn’t get any display until I unplugged all the USB peripherals and restarted. Any thoughts on why that might happen?

I just wrapped up my build too, and faced something similar! It worked fine initially, but then shut down and wouldn’t power back up for a bit. Everything looks alright in BIOS now, but I’m still keeping an eye on it. Seems like these first boots can be a bit tricky!

Definitely sounds like memory training. If you turned it off before the system completed that process, it could explain the no video output. Letting it sit for a while sometimes helps too. Just curious, did you let the second boot run for a good few minutes?

That seems like the reason! Thanks for clarifying!
