I noticed a sudden drop in my PC's gaming performance overnight. My setup is about two years old, featuring an i7-12700F processor, a 4070 Ti graphics card, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and an 850W power supply. Typically, I used to get a stable 240 FPS in Fortnite, sometimes even hitting 360 FPS. Now, however, my performance fluctuates between 180 and 240 FPS, often struggling to maintain 240 FPS even in creative mode. I've attempted various optimization methods, checked all the ports, and I'm unsure if I accidentally downloaded a virus or changed a setting. Any suggestions on how to fix this? It all happened so suddenly!

It sounds like there could be a few different issues at play here. Fortnite isn't the most optimized game out there, but a significant performance drop usually points to something else. Have you checked if your Windows and NVIDIA drivers are up to date? Sometimes, performance dips can be related to those. Also, when was the last time you restarted your PC? If the performance issues are limited to Fortnite, you might want to try completely uninstalling the game and then reinstalling it fresh. Lastly, check your storage—make sure you have at least 10% free space available.
Thanks for the advice! I haven't paid much attention to my storage and I think it's pretty full, so I'll look into that. My drivers are the latest and I'm running Windows 11, but I did wonder if there might be a hardware issue. Just checking these online options first.
