Why did my phone send random messages and post a video without me touching it?

Hey everyone, I have a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra that recently got its screen cracked. While at work in a paint spray shop, I kept it in my pocket with the screen facing my leg. After about 15 minutes of being in my pocket, I noticed some strange activity: it sent gibberish messages and photos to four contacts, and even posted a reel on Instagram of a video I had taken earlier. I'm freaking out a bit and worried that my phone might have a virus. I've scanned it multiple times with Bitdefender and Google Play Protect, and both say I'm safe. Is it really possible that all of this happened from just accidental touches? The contacts it messaged were recent and near the top of my message list.

It sounds like your phone might just be reacting to the cracked screen. Sometimes when the screen is damaged, it can register phantom touches, which could explain all that random activity. First, give the screen a good cleaning; dust and dirt can impact touch sensitivity. If that doesn’t fix it, try turning your phone off completely for an hour. If the issues persist, let the battery drain down to 1-2%, turn it off again, and leave it for 12-24 hours to reset anything that might be stuck. Usually, one of these steps helps!
