Why did my SSD disappear and then magically reappear?

Last night while I was playing CS2, the game crashed, and then I started getting 'Disk Write Errors' when I tried to launch it again. I thought it was just a game issue, so I verified the game files and restarted my computer. However, upon booting back into Windows, I noticed that all my games were uninstalled from Steam, which is installed on my C: drive. When I checked my J: drive, where my Steam Library is, I found that the SSD was completely missing from File Explorer. I checked Disk Management, and it wasn't showing there either. Even when I checked the BIOS, the SSD wasn't detected. After trying various restarts and giving up for the night, I came back from work today to find that my J: drive had magically reappeared. I'm concerned about whether I should be worried about this issue long-term. I ran CrystalDiskInfo, and it seems fine, but I'm not tech-savvy enough to interpret the data from a Pastebin link I found.

This could be a known issue with SSDs, possibly related to beta firmware. They may reappear after you fully power off the system, allowing the SSD controller to reset. Definitely check for any firmware updates for your model. That could help prevent this from happening again.

Thanks for the tip! I checked with Samsung Magician, and it shows that I have the latest firmware on both my SSDs. I didn't actually power off the PC completely last night; I just kept restarting it, so I'll make sure to do that next time.
