I was just gaming on my PC when I noticed a PowerShell window pop up on my second monitor. I checked the Task Scheduler, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. This has never happened before. Can anyone shed some light on what might be going on?

If it happens again, try opening Task Manager and go to the "Details" tab. You can add a column for the command line. That might help pinpoint what caused PowerShell to launch.

It’s pretty unusual for PowerShell to just open randomly. Have you recently downloaded any games that might have triggered it? Just to be safe, make sure your antivirus is up to date and run a thorough scan.

I haven’t downloaded anything lately, so I’m not sure what’s going on. I’m usually pretty cautious with my PC.

I did a scan with Malwarebytes, and everything came back clean.

Also, just to clarify, I avoid pirating games completely!

Sometimes driver software can trigger command windows like PowerShell. If you’ve been working with any graphics or driver tools, that might be the cause.

Yeah, I’ve read that too. I’ve been tinkering with RTX Remix, but I didn't think it would link to PowerShell.
