I've been dealing with ongoing hacking issues for a while now. My Instagram account was just compromised, and my Steam account has been hacked multiple times over the past two years. It's really frustrating because each time, I get a notification about transactions I didn't make, and I see that my account is accessed from random devices in different countries. I use Steam Guard and always log out unauthorized devices, change my passwords, and re-enable Steam Guard, but this cycle keeps repeating.
I'm puzzled about how my Instagram got hacked even though I have a strong and unique password and the only other details linked to the account are my email and phone number. Fortunately, my phone number helped me recover the account, but it's infuriating that someone can change my account info without any notifications.
It feels like there are two possibilities: either my email is compromised since it's linked to both accounts, or there's a keylogger on my phone. But if the former is true, why aren't they just cleaning out all my accounts in one go? And if it's a keylogger, why only target these accounts?
What I don't get is the reasoning behind this kind of hacking. The hackers are stealing trivial items and just making me change my passwords non-stop. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on or suggest ways to protect myself?

It sounds like you might have malware on one of your devices. I suggest you change your passwords to ALL of your accounts and do a clean installation of your OS from a USB stick. Run antivirus software on both your phone and computer. It’s possible they’ve infiltrated one of your devices and can access your information that way. The reason hackers persist is often due to the fact that victims only change their passwords without securing their devices, so they keep coming back for easy access! It’s not just about losing skins but stealing potentially more valuable information—like your financial data if they ever get their hands on it!
Yeah, having a keylogger is a real concern. To protect yourself further, consider setting up separate email accounts for important stuff and use disposable emails for anything less critical. Never reuse passwords unless it's for sites you don’t care about, just in case. I haven’t had issues since adopting these practices!
