I recently reinstalled Windows on my PC, and I'm having a frustrating issue. Whenever I fullscreen any game, it behaves as if it's changing to a different resolution, leading to a brief black screen while it adjusts. My main monitor is set to 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz, and the games are configured to the same resolution and refresh rate. However, after the adjustment, my display appears much whiter. This issue only occurs in full screen mode, not in borderless mode, and I'm really confused about it. Additionally, I've noticed that games like League of Legends minimize when I try to use ALT+TAB on my second monitor, while this doesn't happen with Rainbow Six, so I'm unsure if that's related. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I've had similar issues with my 75Hz monitor. Sometimes, the game will set its own refresh rate even if the resolution is fine. It might be worth checking the refresh rate settings in Windows and ensuring everything matches up with what the game is using.
This could possibly be related to HDR settings. Try disabling HDR in both the game settings and Windows settings. If the problem doesn't happen again afterward, that might be the issue.
It sounds like you're dealing with two different display modes. Full Screen Exclusive (FSE) can cause the resolution switch and minimize when you ALT+TAB because it gives control from the GPU back to the OS during the transition. Games like League of Legends use FSE for better performance, especially at competitive levels, which might explain the minimizing. If you're just using fullscreen without FSE, it acts more like a maximized borderless window, so it shouldn't change resolutions when you switch tasks.
