Why do my online games lag and crash despite decent specs?

I'm using a Lenovo laptop with 6GB of RAM, 4GB of VRAM, and a Ryzen 7 processor. My computer runs everything smoothly—including demanding games like Cyberpunk on high settings—but I'm experiencing serious issues with online games. For instance, when I try to play Marvel Rivals, it takes ages to load (about 10 minutes), lags uncontrollably during gameplay, and often crashes before I can even complete a match. I'm not sure what's going wrong. Any suggestions?

If you're playing through a browser, try enabling hardware acceleration. It might help improve performance during the game.

Have you tried updating the drivers for your Wi-Fi card? That can sometimes solve connection issues, especially with online games.

You might want to run a speed test using fast.com and let it fully complete. Check the detailed results to see if there's anything unusual with your internet connection that could be affecting your gaming experience.

Marvel Rivals doesn't perform well on HDDs. If your game is installed on an HDD, that might be the problem. Have you noticed similar lags with other online games?

Yeah, I saw the same lag with another game. Guess I'll need to check if it's on HDD! Thanks!
