I'm facing a weird issue with my Windows 11 laptop. Every time I start it up, the Command Prompt (CMD) runs automatically in the background without me even opening any tabs, and it ends up consuming about 2000MB of my RAM. I'm not sure what could be causing this. Any ideas?

Some users have reported that it's an Xmrig mining process causing CMD to run unexpectedly. It could be worth checking your system for any unwanted software or miners lurking around.
You might want to try using Process Explorer to dig deeper. This tool can show you what CMD is up to in the background and help identify if it's doing something it shouldn't. Just be cautious with changes if you're not sure.
If you want to stop CMD from using so much RAM, try ending the process for now. You can use Task Manager to see what processes are running when you boot your device and disable anything suspicious. It could be helpful if you post a screenshot showing CMD's RAM usage, too.
First off, you should definitely check your startup apps. Sometimes, odd programs like this can add themselves to the startup list. If you're feeling adventurous, a fresh install of Windows could clear things up, but just keep in mind that might wipe all your data!
