Why Does Fortnite Keep Freezing My PC During Matches?

I'm having a really frustrating issue with Fortnite. Every time I launch the game and enter a match, my PC starts freezing for about 6 seconds at a time, which makes it unplayable. This problem only happens with Fortnite; all my other games work just fine. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Fortnite, which seemed to fix the issue temporarily, but after a week, the freezing came back. Here's some info about my system: I have 1.2TB of storage used out of 2.75TB total, 32GB of RAM, and I'm running an Intel Core i5-10400F CPU. I'm just really tired of dealing with this, so any help would be appreciated!

Your freezing problem could also relate to being under organizational control. Some organizations have strict settings that can interfere with gaming performance, like limiting hardware usage. It might be worth discussing with whoever manages the device to see if there's anything that can be adjusted.

That makes sense! I didn't think about how those settings could affect my gaming experience. I'll see if I can get in touch with the admin to clarify things.

It sounds like you've done a lot to troubleshoot already! Since the freezing issue is specific to Fortnite, it might be linked to some settings or compatibility issues. Have you tried updating your graphics drivers? Sometimes outdated drivers can cause problems with specific games. Also, check your game settings—lowering some graphics settings could help reduce the strain on your PC. If there's persistent malware, that can cause issues too, so keep running scans.

Yeah, updating graphics drivers often fixes game issues! Also, you might want to look at your system's performance while running Fortnite using Task Manager to see if something's consuming too many resources.
