Why Does Google Keep Asking Me to Prove I’m Not a Robot?

I've been having this weird issue lately where Google keeps asking me to confirm I'm not a robot. I usually use Safari, and I hardly ever go incognito or use a VPN. This happened when I wasn't even connected to WiFi. Over the last few weeks, I've been searching about the NFL playoffs, checking some QB stats, and looking up upcoming UFC fights. It's happened about 3 or 4 times now. What might be causing this?

You might want to try clearing the cache in Safari. Sometimes, saved data can trip up Google's security checks.

It's actually pretty common for Google to ask this. They use reCAPTCHA when they detect unusual traffic from your IP or browser, which can look like automated activity. To fix it, you can clear your cache, disable any strange browser extensions, check for malware, or just try to search at a more relaxed pace to avoid triggering their system. A stable internet connection helps too!

I had no clue this was a thing! Thanks for explaining it so clearly.

Just click the box and continue; it's usually a simple verification. It can be a bit annoying, but it shouldn't affect your browsing too much!

This is going to be more common because of IP address shortages. ISPs are using CGNAT, which means multiple users might share the same IP. To avoid the robot check, try to use a browser that keeps your identifiers intact. Safari tends to clear these more often, so staying logged into your Google account could help.

I've faced this issue myself a bunch of times over the past year. It seems like a lot of people are dealing with it now.
