Why Does Microsoft Edge Keep Opening on Its Own After Booting Windows 11?

I need some help figuring out what's going on with my Windows 11 computer. Every time I boot it up, Microsoft Edge opens automatically, even though I have auto-boot options turned off. When I try to close it through Task Manager, it just pops back up again right away. Also, there's a notification at the bottom right saying something about "Programs using location: Microsoft Edge." I noticed there's a "Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection" in my Control Panel's uninstall menu too. I haven't installed anything on my computer except for Steam, Brave Browser, and Discord, and I haven't used Microsoft Edge for anything besides downloading another browser. Any ideas on whether this means I have a virus?

It sounds like you might have some malware or a stubborn program on your hands. Check out a malware removal guide to help you clean your computer. Also, remember to keep your important data backed up just in case!

Just so you know, having Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection is pretty standard on Windows devices, so that might not be a cause for concern. Still, it’s good to be cautious!

You should also double-check the startup programs in your Task Manager. Make sure Microsoft Edge is disabled there. If you've already done that and it’s still opening, it might be time to run a full virus scan just to be safe!

I mentioned in my original post that I disabled it, but it keeps coming back. I'm really confused!
