Why Does My Ethernet Keep Disconnecting from My PC?

I recently switched my internet provider from Bell to Rogers and I've noticed a significant improvement in speed. However, I keep facing a problem where my Ethernet connection randomly disconnects from my PC, and it shows that I'm offline, even though all other devices in my house remain connected. I'm looking for ideas on why this might be happening and any potential fixes.

I think it's also worth checking whether the problem is with your Ethernet connection itself or just a glitch with your system. I recall hearing that Windows can sometimes falsely report no connection even when you're still connected. Do you experience disruptions in streaming or chats when this happens, or is it just the indicator showing no internet?

A quick thought: have you tried plugging into different ports on your router or switch? Sometimes a specific port can have issues while others work fine. And if you're on Windows 11, there might be specific drivers or settings causing these disconnections.

Have you considered using a different Ethernet cable? Sometimes the cable might be the issue. If it's running through walls and floors, it could have some wear or pinching. It might be worth trying to swap it out if you can manage it.
