I'm experiencing a weird issue with my gaming laptop where whenever I boot up games, my GPU usage jumps to 100%, resulting in a huge drop in FPS. I uninstalled some Windows updates and then reinstalled them, but that didn't solve the issue. I've also run Malwarebytes and quarantined some items, but the problem persists. I haven't downloaded anything recently, and this started happening just yesterday without any obvious cause. My GPU drivers for my RTX 3060 seem fine, and Device Manager recognizes everything. Does anyone have ideas on what could be causing this?

I'm seeing similar issues. I typically play Overwatch at 2560x1440 and maintain around 144 FPS, but now I’m only getting about 12 FPS max! It’s the same with Expedition 33 at 1920x1080. How can I check if shader compiling is affecting my frame rates?
It’s normal for your GPU to hit 100% usage when gaming, that just means it's pushing out as much power as it can without bottlenecking by your CPU. Can you tell me which games you're playing, what resolution you're running, and what FPS you're usually getting? If you've just updated your graphics drivers or are booting up a game for the first time, sometimes shader compiling can slow things down temporarily until everything’s set up properly.
