Hey everyone! I just started a remote job and I'm a bit confused about something. My employer wants me to plug my docking station directly into my router. The problem is my router is in the living room, and every time I unplug and replug it, it restarts, which is really annoying. Currently, I have my laptop and monitors set up wirelessly, and they haven't noticed anything yet. But I'm curious, is there a specific reason for this requirement? Could it affect my work later on? Any advice would be appreciated! If this isn't the right place for my question, please let me know where I should post it.

The main reason they want you wired in is for a faster and more stable connection, especially if you're using their VPN. A direct connection usually cuts down on issues you might face with dropouts or slow speeds that come with Wi-Fi.
That makes sense! Should I plan on moving my router closer, or do you think it's fine to leave it as is?
