Why Does My LAN Port Keep Disconnecting?

I've been struggling with a persistent issue regarding my internet connection through the LAN port on my PC. To give you some background, my setup consists of a router connected to a Devolo box that sends the signal to another Devolo box in my room. My PC is connected via a LAN cable to this second Devolo box. The problem is that the LAN port disconnects every five seconds or so, causing my internet connection to drop. I can see this reflected in the task manager where my internet speed spikes from 60 Mbit to 0 every 12 seconds. I've tried swapping out the LAN cable, but that didn't help. When I connect my PC directly to the router in the living room, everything works perfectly. I've noticed that when I reconnect to the Devolo, it works fine for a couple of weeks, but I want a permanent fix. Does anyone have any insights on why this is happening?

It sounds like there could be a program on your computer that’s interfering with your network connection. I recommend using Process Explorer to identify which application may be causing the issue. It can help you see what's actively communicating over the network and identify any potential culprits.

I've never used Process Explorer before. How do I get started with it?

Never mind, I figured it out! Turns out, I just needed to go into Device Manager, find the network adapter, open its properties, and uncheck the 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' option. I also disabled any power-saving features in the 'Advanced' tab like 'Energy Efficient Ethernet'. That did the trick!
