Why Does My Monitor Switch to 800×600 When I Try to Set It to 100Hz?

I just unboxed a new 27" LG QHD IPS Monitor (model 27U631A-B) and I'm encountering a frustrating issue. When I switch the resolution to 100Hz, it automatically drops the resolution down to 800x600. I've got an Acer Intel Arc B580 GPU with 12GB of memory, and my drivers are all updated. My setup includes a Ryzen 7 7700 processor with 64GB of RAM, and I have four out of five monitors connected to my PC, with two of them being 1080p and connected to the motherboard's display ports. Can anyone help figure this out?

First off, make sure your GPU drivers are indeed installed correctly and that your monitor is plugged directly into the GPU, not the motherboard. Have you tried manually switching back to 1440p in the display settings after selecting 100Hz? That might help.

Yeah, I'm 100% sure the drivers are installed and connected to the GPU. I can select 1440p, but it just reverts back to 60Hz.

That resolution sounds like a blast from the past! Try disconnecting all other monitors from your PC and only connect the LG to the GPU. If you can get it to 1440p at 100Hz this way, then it looks like the issue isn't with the monitor itself.

I did that right after I posted! Still no change. I even reinstalled the Intel drivers cleanly and rebooted. Only the LG is connected now, but the problem persists. I checked the user manual too, and it confirms that it supports 1440p at 100Hz. I suspect it might be the DisplayPort to HDMI cable not supporting 1440p at 100Hz.
