Why does my motherboard show code FF with 4 RAM sticks?

I'm facing an issue with my ROG Crosshair X870E Hero motherboard where it won't POST and gets stuck at code FF when I try to use all four RAM sticks. I'm using two pairs of Crucial DDR5 Pro RAM (the same brand and specs), but it works fine when I install just one pair at a time. I'm trying to understand what's going wrong and if there's something I might be missing. Has anyone else encountered this?

It sounds like you're hitting a common issue with mixing RAM kits. Even if they are the same model, using two different pairs can cause conflicts, leading to boot problems. RAM is sold in kits because they're tested for compatibility within that specific set. On top of that, since you're using DDR5 on an AMD platform, which can have a weaker memory controller, you're really walking a tightrope here. My suggestion? Stick to a single kit to avoid these headaches.

You make a good point. I was just trying to max out my RAM. It's frustrating that they advertise such high limits when it feels like I can't achieve them without issues.
