I've noticed that my old Nintendo Switch tends to shut down unexpectedly even when it still shows about 45% battery life left. The battery doesn't appear to be bulging or damaged, and I followed Nintendo's tutorial for troubleshooting, but I couldn't get the battery to drain on the home screen. Anyone know what could be going on?

It sounds like your battery's capacity might be degraded after so many years. Even though it shows 45%, the actual power it can hold might be much less. It might be time to consider a battery replacement.
Yeah, after around 7 years, batteries can lose their effectiveness. Even if it looks fine, the internal components can deteriorate over time. A new battery could solve those issues.
