Hey everyone! I'm reaching out for some help with my custom PC build, primarily used for rendering projects with programs like SketchUp, 3ds Max, and Enscape. My setup includes an i9-12900KF CPU, 32 GB of RAM, and an RTX 3060. I've faced some issues in the past where my PC would freeze during rendering, but I managed to solve that by switching from game drivers to studio drivers for my GPU. Now, I'm running into a new problem. When I install my two RAM sticks in slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4, my PC won't boot - it keeps turning on and off. However, it works fine with the RAM in slots 1 and 2, but then it's running at only 2133 MHz instead of the intended 3600 MHz. I've read that loosening the CPU cooler screws might help, but I'm wondering if that's a solid solution or if I should reset my BIOS to defaults. Any advice is appreciated!

I would suggest trying that cooler adjustment and see if that helps. Loosening it by about a quarter turn can sometimes resolve odd boot issues, especially with seating problems. Just make sure everything is snug but not overtightened!
First off, make sure your RAM is listed on your motherboard's QVL (Qualified Vendor List). If it's not, you might be dealing with a compatibility issue. As for the cooler screw tip, that's more of an old-school trick for older Intel CPUs, so it might not help much in your case. But definitely worth a try!
Yeah, I get that! It worked fine for you before, but sometimes RAM can behave differently in dual channel mode. Testing them individually is a good call; weird issues can pop up when you combine them.
