I'm experiencing a weird issue on my PC where the performance becomes choppy or I notice a drop in FPS whenever I switch to a different app or scroll through a window. This mostly happens during light tasks like using Discord, Spotify, or Chrome. It's quite random, and I haven't figured out a way to replicate it consistently. I've been monitoring my system with HWiNFO, and I haven't noticed any spikes in CPU, GPU, or RAM during these drops. I have two monitors set up—one at 1440p and another at 1080p—and it seems to occur more often when interacting with the 1080p monitor. I'm unsure how to start troubleshooting this issue and would appreciate any suggestions! Here are my system specs: Intel Core i5-13600K, MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Gaming X Trio, and Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB RAM.

It sounds like it could be a driver issue. Have you checked if your graphic drivers are up to date? Sometimes, performance drops can be linked to outdated drivers.
You might want to consider the CPU scheduler as a factor. Some users have found success by disabling the e-cores in their CPU settings. It’s worth trying out to see if it makes a difference.
Did you try cleaning up any temporary files on your system? Sometimes accumulated junk can cause minor performance issues. A good cleanup and a reboot might help!
I did recently clean up temp files and rebooted, so I don’t think that’s the problem. But thanks for the suggestion!

I haven’t checked recently, good idea! I’ll look into updating my graphics drivers and see if that improves things.
