Why Does My PC Power On and Off When I Turn the Plug Back On?

I've recently set up a new PC, and I've noticed a strange issue. Whenever I turn off the power at the wall socket after shutting down my PC, it automatically powers on when I switch the plug back on, but then it only stays on for about a second before turning itself off again. Is this normal behavior? What should I check or do to resolve this?

This is actually pretty common behavior for PCs when power is restored after being shut off at the wall. There's really no need to cut off the power that way. Doing so can lead to extra wear and tear on your machine, especially on the power supply. And just a heads up, it might drain your CMOS battery faster if you keep doing it like that.

I never had this issue with my old setup, but I guess I'll skip turning off the wall plugs from now on.
