Why does my PC shut off right after turning on?

I'm really struggling with my PC that just turns off a second after I power it on. It's been around five months since I built it, and about three to four weeks ago, it randomly shut down without any blue screen or warning. I wasn't doing anything intense, just watching something on Discord. It feels like the power was just cut!

When I press the power button, the fans spin for a brief moment and then everything shuts down again—my monitor doesn't even register a signal. I've tried replacing the power supply with a new one since the old one was quite dated. I even replaced the motherboard today in case the PSU had damaged it, but nothing has changed.

I feel like I've exhausted all possible troubleshooting steps: stripping the system down to the essentials, unplugging everything and holding the power button for 30-40 seconds, reseating all cables, RAM, and the GPU multiple times, even trying different power outlets. I've reset the BIOS and attempted powering it with a screwdriver instead of the power button. I'm at a loss here and just want my PC to work again.

Here are my specs:
- AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-Core Processor
- ASRock X870 Pro RS ATX AM5 Motherboard
- TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory
- XFX Swift OC Radeon RX 9070 16 GB Video Card
- Western Digital Black SN770 500 GB
- Western Digital Black SN770 2 TB
- SAMA White 750W Power Supply

Make sure to check that there's no thermal throttling occurring. Also, ensure the heatsink is properly mounted and check that CPU power isn't mistakenly connected to a PCIe cable. Sometimes basics get overlooked!

I had a similar problem with my PC. My workaround was to power it up, then quickly hold the power button to shut it down. Wait a second and turn it back on—it worked for me! It might hint that your PSU isn't delivering adequate power on startup.

It sounds like you might be dealing with a fried CPU. The X3D and ASRock motherboards don’t always play nice with each other, unfortunately. It's a common issue, so I’d take that into consideration when troubleshooting further.

This really sounds like a power issue—something might be tripping either the motherboard or PSU protection circuit. I’d advise stripping everything down to bare essentials and see if you can get it to POST. Unplug as much as possible and try it out.

If your old PSU died, there's a chance it caused damage to other components too. The safest bet is finding a working PC to swap your parts into one by one. That way, you can isolate what's causing the issue.
