I've been using my phone for internet access through a USB-A to C cable for about a year and a half. It usually works great, but while playing a game recently, my connection started dropping unexpectedly. I've restarted both my PC and phone multiple times, but the issue persists. When I disconnect and reconnect my phone, I get a brief connection but then it drops again, often not coming back unless I reconnect. Does anyone have ideas on what could be causing this? Might it be my motherboard or the cable?

If changing the cable doesn't help, it could be that your mobile carrier is experiencing some problems, or their network might be overloaded. Tethering can be a bit unreliable—especially with cellular connections. Also, I noticed you mentioned the game could be heating up your PC components. That’s worth keeping in mind. If your PC gets too hot, it might impact performance as well.
It might be the cable that's the issue. Try switching to hotspot mode using WiFi instead of USB. If it works fine that way, then it's likely the USB cable that's causing your connection to drop.
USB cables can be pretty hit or miss. Using a different USB cable might resolve the connection issues you’re experiencing.
