I've got a 16GB RAM stick that normally runs at 2400MHz but gets boosted to 3200MHz with XMP enabled. Recently, I added a new 16GB stick that's supposed to run at 3200MHz out of the box. Here's the issue: when XMP is off, both sticks show up and work at 2400MHz, but when I turn on XMP, only one stick is detected. I'm pretty sure that it's the older stick that's being recognized while the new one doesn't show up. The new RAM is compatible with my motherboard, but their timings are different (the old one's timings are 16-20-20-39, and the new one's are 22-22-22-52). I also tried running the new RAM alone, and even then, the BIOS indicates that it's set to 3200MHz, but the XMP profiles are greyed out. Is there any way to get both sticks running at 3200MHz?

When mixing RAM sticks that aren't identical, using the XMP profile can be tricky. Most of the time, it won’t work as they try to run at the speed of the slower stick. If you want to run both at a higher speed, you might need to manually overclock them, but it can be a bit complex if you’re not used to it.

So, is it possible to overclock them one at a time?
