I've recently upgraded my GPU from a GTX 1050 2GB to an RX 580 4GB while using my aging Ryzen 5 3600 setup. The benchmarks suggested a 75% performance boost, but I'm actually seeing stutters and drops in frame rates. For instance, I lost about 50fps in Valorant but only gained about 30fps in Fortnite. The biggest issue is the stuttering and freezing, making games feel unplayable compared to the 1050. My temperatures seem fine, peaking at around 70°C under load. I'm considering uninstalling my AMD drivers to see if that helps. Has anyone experienced similar issues or have suggestions?

Check your Adrenalin settings under performance/tuning. Use GPU-Z to see if your clock speeds match normal RX 580 specs. I had mine running smoothly before upgrading to a 5700 XT a couple of months ago. Also, consider trying older drivers like 22.8.1 to see if that helps.
It's possible that your RX 580 is defective. Remember, these cards are from 2017, and it could happen.
Have you checked if the stuttering could be due to shader cache building? It often happens the first time you play games after a new GPU installation. Just give it some time and keep playing to see if it settles down.
So you think I should just keep playing and see if it gets better?
Did you run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) before swapping GPUs? It's key to removing old drivers completely. If you haven’t, boot up in safe mode, run DDU, then reinstall the AMD drivers. It might really help with performance issues!
Yeah, I did that! I used DDU to clean out the Nvidia drivers before switching to the AMD ones.
I swapped from a GTX 1050 to an RX 580 8GB and saw a noticeable boost in performance. Make sure you're using the latest full drivers and not just the minimal ones. Sometimes that can make a huge difference!
That’s what I was hoping for! Even with the 4GB version, I expected a better performance too. I'll check my driver version.
If the clock speeds are off, what does that imply? What should I do next?
