Why Does My UPS Fail During Power Flickers?

I'm having trouble with my AWP UPS. It doesn't seem to work properly when there's a power flicker, and my whole PC shuts down. However, when I unplug the UPS from the wall and turn it on, it functions as it should. It's really frustrating, almost feels like a lifeguard watching over a tiny pool! Any ideas on what's going on?

Have you checked the power rating of your UPS and how much power your PC draws? Sometimes, if the computer's power consumption is too high or the UPS isn’t rated adequately, it can lead to issues like yours. Also, see if the UPS monitoring software is giving you any alerts about battery age or health.

That’s weird! I have a TrippLite UPS that has two sets of outlets: one for just surge protection and another that's backed by the battery. Maybe your UPS has a similar feature? It could explain why it seems to work when unplugged.
