I'm a first-time PC builder and planning to use an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X mostly for gaming. My girlfriend recently switched from a Ryzen 9 7900X to the 7700X, citing it provides nearly the same performance for about $70 less. I'm considering the GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX motherboard because it has good reviews, but I'm a bit worried after reading some negative reviews about various GIGABYTE motherboards. I want to make sure I get this right on my first attempt. I've compiled my build list below and am patiently waiting for Black Friday sales to make my final choices.

Honestly, I think the RX 7600 XT is a bad choice for your setup. You might want to look into alternatives, like the RX 9060 XT or 5070, for better performance. Also, consider upgrading your power supply; a reliable 850W unit that’s gold-certified can be found for around $90. And for your SSD, you can find 2TB Gen 4 options in the $120 range. There are better options out there if you're patient and look around.

If I were you, I'd be more worried about the 5070's VRAM limiting its lifespan. Just because it has more power now doesn’t mean it will still be relevant in a few years!
