Why Does My Website Go Down Randomly When Accessed from Social Media?

I'm managing a website that has its nameservers through Network Solutions, and I've noticed it seems to drop and occasionally point to an older DNS version. This happens pretty sporadically, especially when users are accessing the site through a link from social media rather than typing the URL directly. Has anyone else dealt with this issue? Would switching to Cloudflare's nameservers help? Any advice on troubleshooting would be appreciated!

First, you should check if the DNS service is properly configured on both Network Solutions and HubSpot. It's crucial to identify whether the website is down just for a few users or for everyone. Try triggering the issue yourself to see if DNS resolves correctly. Social media links can sometimes include extra junk that causes unexpected behavior. Look into HubSpot's error logs for any activity before, during, and after the downtime. Also, ensure that both A and AAAA records are set correctly, as well as checking compatibility with IPv4 and IPv6.

Good point! It's also worth double-checking how your CNAME and A records are set up. Sometimes, the issue could stem from the way they're pointing to HubSpot.

Definitely, the DNS logs can provide insights, but looking into routing issues might also help.

From what you described, the outage seems to only impact a select few users, which might be why some people access the site without issues. If your nameservers are managed by Network Solutions, but they're pointing to HubSpot, ensure there's no conflict in DNS records. Sporadic outages can be frustrating, so monitoring these settings and accessing logs while troubleshooting is key!

That's true! Viewing the DNS logs can help you identify any unusual patterns during the outages.

It’s also possible that something with the social media platform itself is causing redirects to old versions.
