Why Does My Windows Laptop Say Storage Is Full When It Shouldn’t Be?

Hey everyone! I'm having a bit of an issue with my Windows laptop. It has 236 GB of total storage, but when I tally up the space used by my apps and files, it only comes to about 178 GB. Despite this, my laptop keeps notifying me that the storage is full. I've deleted as much as I can, but it seems to barely make a difference. I also ran a virus scan that came back clean, although it was just a basic scan. Can anyone suggest why my storage might be reporting as full and how I can resolve this? Thanks in advance!

You should try downloading Treesize Free from JAM. It helps visualize your storage usage and should show you what's taking up space. It's a great tool!

Absolutely, it's available on the Microsoft Store too, so it’s easy to get!

Don't forget to check your temp folder under your user profile. Sometimes, it can have a lot of unnecessary files. Also, Windows swap file is hidden and can take up a surprising amount of space, especially if your RAM is low.

How do I actually access the swap file? Will it appear in a normal search?
