Lately, my husband and I have been experiencing an issue where Google asks us to complete a captcha every single time we perform a search. This just started happening yesterday, and it's really confusing! We're worried we might have been hacked or that something unusual is going on with Google. Can anyone help explain why this is happening? The message we see reads that their systems have detected unusual traffic from our network. Any insights into what might be causing this would be greatly appreciated!

I had a similar issue not long ago. Sometimes browser extensions can create a weird digital footprint that triggers these capchas. If you unknowingly have any extensions that block ads or change your browsing activity, they could be affecting your searches. Try disabling them and see if the captchas stop!
This can happen if your ISP is using NAT and assigns you an IP that’s shared with others. If lots of people are making searches at the same time from the same IP, Google might flag it. It’s also worth checking your browser settings or any extensions that might interfere with your connection.
It sounds like Google might be detecting unusual traffic from your IP, which could happen for a few reasons. A common culprit is using a VPN. Check if you or your ISP may be doing something that causes this traffic pattern. Also, consider how many searches you're doing in a short span. Clearing your cache and cookies can sometimes help too!
Thanks for the advice! Just to clarify, we're definitely not using a VPN on our devices. I'll try clearing the cache and see if that helps.

That's interesting! I haven't considered how our ISP might be involved. I'll look into that further.
