Why is Google warning me about unusual traffic?

I've been experiencing some anxiety about Google giving me a notice saying "unusual traffic, please confirm this is you." I've been doing quite a bit of searching recently to identify a mysterious object for someone, and I've navigated various sites while researching. I got this warning twice in quick succession, and even though I understand it doesn't always indicate malware, I'm concerned because most articles I read don't mention excessive searching as a potential cause. I tried running Malwarebytes for a basic scan but didn't detect anything suspicious, and I've cleared my browsing history and cookies as well. Is there truly a need for concern? I typically reject cookies on unfamiliar sites and didn't click on anything strange.

Don't stress too much! I've encountered that warning too when I've been searching a lot about a topic. It seems Google sometimes thinks we're behaving like bots with all the traffic from a single IP. Totally get the anxiety—I've got OCD myself, so I understand why this can be concerning. Maybe take a break from the device and try to have some fun!

That's a relief! I guess I'm just efficient at browsing out there, haha!
