I've been using Linux Mint for a while and recently switched one of my PCs to Parrot OS. I'm having a tough time figuring out the font scaling. I've tried changing individual font sizes, adjusting text scaling, and fiddling with the display scaling between 100% and 125%. Although I have managed to get most things looking decent, the font sizes for my menu and the time display are still way too small. I even get a message from btop saying my terminal is too small, even when I'm in full screen. I tried using ChatGPT for help with installation and configuration, as well as with the gnome terminal, but no luck. Am I missing something obvious to make my screen look good without it seeming like it's set up for someone much older? I'm using a T480, and I really appreciate any tips!

Sounds like you're running into some issues with the older X11 backend that Mint uses. A lot of users find font scaling troublesome there. Switching to a more modern distro that utilizes Wayland could really help, especially since KDE Plasma has an excellent Wayland implementation that’s known for its great visuals and smooth performance, which might remind you of Mint's Cinnamon desktop. If you need some suggestions, Bazzite KDE is fantastic for gamers while Aurora is great if you’re looking for a general-purpose system that ‘just works’. Give them a shot!
Yeah, I second that! Also, if you're specifically into gaming, check out Nobara as it's focused on that and uses KDE as well.
