Hey everyone! I recently switched to Linux on my ASUS VivoBook 15 X560UD laptop with an Intel i7-8550U processor, 24 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GTX 1050 graphics card. I've tried several distros like Mint, Pop!_OS, and now Zorin, but I've been facing significant performance issues. Mint was way too slow, and Pop!_OS didn't recognize my GPU. Zorin is better but still slows down after I reboot.
I really want to embrace Linux for my creative work, which includes web browsing, image editing, and some light video editing. I'm starting to wonder why Linux performs worse than Windows on my setup. Can anyone help me figure out why it's so laggy? And which distro would work best for my needs?

Check your BIOS settings and try disabling fast boot or secure boot. Sometimes, too much stuff loading on start-up can also cause slowdowns. After booting up, make sure your NVIDIA drivers are active too. Here’s a guide on activating your NVIDIA graphics card in Zorin: [link]. Good luck!
Thanks! I’m not super savvy with tech, but I’ll definitely check out those BIOS settings.
