I recently got a 2TB hard drive, but when I connect it to my computer, it only shows 29.8GB of available space instead of the expected 1.81TB. I've tried formatting it several times, and it's formatted as NTFS, not FAT32. I'm running Windows 11, and I'm not sure what else I can do to resolve this issue.

Try using CrystalDiskInfo to check the specifications of the drive. If it reports something other than 2TB, you'll know for sure what's going on.
Sounds like it might really be a 2TB drive, but the partitions could be messed up.
You should definitely check what partitions are on that drive. Open Disk Management by right-clicking the Windows icon and selecting it. This will help you see if the space is allocated properly or if there's some other issue.
Here's my screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/cBEWBA9. Can you take a look?
It’s really important to understand the partition layout. That’ll give us clues on what’s happening.
It sounds like you might have been sold a fake drive. A lot of counterfeit drives are just repackaged SD cards with a USB adapter, and 32GB is a very common size for those cards. I'd recommend checking the drive in Disk Management to see its partition layout.
I opened Disk Management and I'm making a screenshot now; I'll upload it soon!
Yeah, if it's a fake, it might not even be detectable as a real HDD.
If you didn't pay much for the drive, you might have gotten scammed. I hope it was under $20. If that’s the case, it’s likely a 32GB SD card masquerading as a larger hard drive.
It came with a graphics card and RAM too, so I thought it was a good deal!
That’s concerning! Those deals can sometimes be too good to be true.

I checked CrystalDiskInfo, and it reports it as a 2000GB drive, which seems right because it makes sounds every time I access it.
