Why is my 5070Ti capped at 75% power limit? Is it a CPU bottleneck or a cable issue?

I'm experiencing an issue where my 5070Ti is consistently capped at 75% power limit regardless of the workload, and I'm trying to figure out if this is due to a CPU bottleneck, specifically with my 5800X, or if there might be an issue with the 12VHPWR cable. I've only been playing at 4K, and I'm not sure why I'm hitting this limitation. Has anyone else encountered this 75% cap, and do you have any advice on diagnosing the problem?

I think there's a good chance it's just the CPU holding back your GPU's performance unless you're really stressing the system with high settings. In my case with a similar setup, I’ve noticed the 5800X could bottleneck the GPU at lower resolutions. But if you're playing 4K, that should ease up a bit. Just keep an eye on those power connections!

I completely agree! Just monitored my setup, and the 5800X holds up better at 4K than at 1440p. Still, checking that cable is essential.

The 5800X can struggle to utilize the full potential of a 5070Ti, especially at lower resolutions. Some users report that it doesn't always push the GPU hard enough outside of 4K gaming. However, it might be worth checking your PSU and the 12VHPWR cable to ensure they're supplying enough power and are properly connected. Sometimes it can be a combination of factors causing the cap.

I play at 4K too, and I'm not getting those power limits. Could it be a faulty cable or just a power supply issue? Might be worth swapping the cable to see if that fixes it.
