I just built a new gaming desktop with Windows, and everything was smooth until I tried connecting my Xbox controller via Bluetooth. I'm getting an error message saying "couldn't connect Bluetooth," and I can't even turn the Bluetooth on or off. I've already updated my drivers, checked the device manager (including hidden devices), and even tried power cycling my PC multiple times. Airplane mode is off, so I'm not sure what else to do. Interestingly, I was able to connect the controller to my phone without any issues. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

It sounds like your PC might not actually have Bluetooth capability. Just because you have WiFi doesn’t guarantee Bluetooth is built in. You should check the specifications of your motherboard or the desktop itself to see if Bluetooth is mentioned. If it doesn’t have Bluetooth, you might need to get a USB Bluetooth adapter.
Make sure you’ve connected your WiFi antenna if your setup requires it. Sometimes, the Bluetooth function relies on that connection to operate properly. If you’re using a Bluetooth adapter, ensure it’s plugged in securely and recognized by your system.
Wait, do you mean I need an antenna for Bluetooth? I thought it was separate!

How can I check that? Where do I look?
