Why is My C Drive Running Out of Space with So Few Programs?

Hey everyone, I've got an Asus K571GT laptop with a 500GB C drive and a 1TB D drive. I only have a few things on my C drive like Adobe Premiere (3.2GB) and a video game (~57GB). Even with only those installed, I'm down to just 10GB of free space! I've got some other smaller programs like Adobe Acrobat (1GB) and a Brother Printer software (800MB), but that's it. Has anyone faced the same issue where there's barely anything on the C drive but it's still almost full? Any tips on finding out what's taking up all the space or how to clear some space?

Make sure to check your System Restore points, hibernation file (hiberfil.sys), and pagefile.sys. You can use WinDirStat or TreeSize Free for more visual insight. Don't forget about running Disk Cleanup options to free up space.

Have you ever cleaned out your TEMP folder? That can accumulate a lot of unnecessary files over time.

You might want to check out WinDirStat or WizTree as well; they provide cool visual representations of your drive space usage. Also, be careful with Adobe software—sometimes they create big cache files unless you change the settings.

You should try using WizTree. It scans your drive and gives you a detailed breakdown of what's taking up space. It's super handy and I've found it really useful!

I totally agree, WizTree is great! I keep the portable version on my USB for convenience.
