I've been using a Dell XPS with Windows 11 for about three years now, and lately, my computer keeps prompting me for a BitLocker key when I start it up. I initially thought it was a one-time thing, but after a recent freeze during my study session, it asked for the key again after a force restart. I haven't made any significant changes to my downloads or system, and the only thing I've disconnected is my external SSD, which I've done before without issues. I'm able to provide the key whenever it asks, but I'd really like to understand why this is happening and how I can prevent it in the future. Any insights would be appreciated!

One possible fix is to turn off BitLocker temporarily. Let it decrypt your drive completely, then you can turn it back on again. Sometimes system updates can trigger the need for the key. Give that a try, and see if it helps!
Are you sure you need BitLocker? If you find it unnecessary, you might want to consider decrypting the drive altogether. It could save you a lot of hassle!
When the BitLocker prompt shows up, try hitting ESC. It might enter a reprogram mode, and once you enter the key, hopefully, it will remember it for future logins. Also, don't forget to restart your computer immediately after logging in to save any settings!

I have no clue what BitLocker is or how it works; I only became aware of it because of this problem!
