Why is my computer showing ‘no bootable devices found’?

I'm experiencing an issue with my computer, which I've had since 2022. It's now displaying a message saying 'no bootable devices found', and when I press F1 or F2, I see 'no media presence found'. Running diagnostics shows that there are one or more errors, but unfortunately, I can't afford to get it repaired. What could be going on?

When it says 'no media presence found', it generally means that your computer can't find the HDD at all. It's probably trying to boot from the network by default, but not finding anything there either. It suggests a real issue with the storage drive.

From what you've described, it could be a number of problems, including a power supply issue or a faulty SATA chip. Running some tests could point you to the exact issue. Usually, though, it turns out to be the SSD, unless the SATA cable is loose.

There could be multiple culprits here like a failing motherboard, SATA controller, or even a power issue to the drive. Check if the SATA cables are securely connected and perhaps try disconnecting any unnecessary SATA devices to troubleshoot.

It sounds like your hard drive or SSD might be failing. The 'no bootable devices found' message usually suggests that the operating system can't locate the drive to start up. If it's a desktop, sometimes just reconnecting the drive to a different port can help.
