Hey everyone! I've been having issues with my computer where it suddenly becomes super slow for about 5 minutes every six days. I finally managed to open the Task Manager to check the CPU usage, and it was peaking at 100%! It usually sits at around 2-3%, so this seems really concerning. I even tried using Win+Shift+S to take a screenshot, but everything was just lagging too much. I took a picture with my phone, and you can see what I'm dealing with. Should I just format my computer or is there something else I should try? Any advice would be awesome!

I feel your pain! High CPU usage can be really frustrating. I'd recommend looking into what's running in the background. Things like chart access in Visual Code, for instance, might be pulling your CPU. Sometimes it's just one little setting or app that needs to be adjusted! If you still can't find the cause, then formatting might be a good option, but let’s see if we can find a solution first!
Definitely check out that 'Startup' tab in Task Manager. Lots of programs automatically set themselves to run on startup, and many of them you probably don’t need. As for your CPU issue, things like WSL or Docker can spike CPU usage due to something called the vmmem process. Make sure they aren't running when you notice the slowdowns. If none of that helps, a fresh format could be your last resort!
Are you running any virtual machines? That can often cause high CPU usage, especially if they're active while you're having this problem. If you don't think they are causing it, make sure to check your Task Manager's 'Startup' tab. A lot of programs that run at startup might not be necessary, and disabling them could help speed things up. Also, in the 'Performance' tab, you might be able to pinpoint what's hogging your CPU.
